Emma is officially a toddler. Yesterday, she took her first steps. She saw some keys on the ground and was motivated enough by them that she took four tentative steps in their direction before realizing that crawling is MUCH faster than walking thank-you-very-much. We propped her back up on her feet one more time just to make sure we hadn’t imagined it and were rewarded with four more steps, until she remembered the whole crawling option again.
To say she is now mobile would be silly, since she has been mobile for a while on her knees, but I can’t help but feel that we have entered a new phase, even though she isn’t quite running around the playground yet. Now I know what people mean when they say “They grow up so fast.”
Yikes. And yay for Emma.
